With the ever changing Covid-19 situation, all of our events are subject to change. We are closely monitoring guidance from state and local governments as we evaluate each of our planned events. Safety remains a top priority for us at Verrill Farm and will remain the focal point as we make decisions on which events will be held at the farm this year. Below is our tentative scheduled calendar of events for the upcoming year.

January 2024

Seed Sowing Workshop - Sunday, January 7th - 1-4pm *Event Full*

In this free workshop, led by Isabel Bailey of the Concord Pollinator Health Committee, we will learn how to sow seeds into milk jugs for easy, outdoor, over-wintering germination of native pollinator-supporting plants.
Demonstrations will be given at 1 PM, 2 PM, and 3 PM. After attending a demonstration, participants will prepare the growing containers and plant seeds. Plan to browse our resource table and learn about plans for a local Pollinator Pathway, too!

Every Wednesday night through February we're offering a family style meal including a fresh salad, a ready-to-heat entree and a dessert for 4-6 people AND a night off from cooking! What more could you want?

Back by popular demand! Work with the talented Verrill Farm bakery team to learn the art of making French Macarons. Learn all the techniques to make this elegant French confection. Class will include hands on baking, recipes and treats to take home.

Valentine's Day Dinner Pickups - Wednesday, Feb. 14th - 1 to 6PM

Spoil your special someone with a gourmet dinner from Verrill Farm! Choose from 2 delicious entrees including Surf and Turf and Mushroom Risotto. Meals are fully cooked and come with heating instructions. Each meal includes a Valentine's salad, two entrees, a dessert duo and a long stemmed rose.
Additional flowers and meal add-ons are available.
Meals cost $100 per couple and must be ordered by February 8th.

Winter Gingerbread House Workshop - Monday, February 19th - 10am

The perfect school vacation week activity! Join us in the Greenhouse on Monday, February 19th at 10am for this fun, hands on Gingerbread House decorating workshop! Each child will receive a homemade gingerbread house, and an assortment of fun candy!
Registration Required - $45 per child - Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult

Adult & Child French Macaron Class - Tuesday, February 20th

A fun afternoon for your little baker!
Work with the talented Verrill Farm bakery team to learn the art of making French Macarons. Learn all the techniques to make this elegant French confection. Class will include hands on baking, recipes and treats to take home.

This Baking class will teach you how to make s'mores from scratch! Our Verrill Farm bakers will teach you how to make homemade marshmallows and graham crackers for the most delicious s'mores you've ever had!

Wednesday, April 26th - 7-8:30 at the Harvey Wheeler Center Auditorium

Have you heard the term no-till and wondered what it is? And what tillage means for farms and gardens? Join us for Turning the Soil: The Dirt on Tillage and No-Till, presented by the Concord Agricultural Committee.
The event will feature a presentation by Sam Glaze-Corcoran from UMASS about what tillage is and a discussion with local farmers Steve Verrill,  Anna Kelchlin (Gaining Ground Concord) and Mark Congdon (Saltbox Farm and Honeynut Farms) about what that means for Concord Farms.

Sunflowers & Sunshine to Support Emerson Pediatrics - Begins August 15th

Enjoy 15 different varieties and over 250,000 sunflower blooms! Wander through the paths cut between the flowers while enjoying nature, the sunflowers and some great photo spots. 50% of all event proceeds will be donated to support the pediatrics unit at Emerson Hospital. Due to safe social distancing requirements, entry into the field will be admission based (all guests ages 10+) and will include cut your own flowers!

Sunflowers Professional Photography Sessions

Looking for that *perfect* spot for your engagement photos, family portraits, newborn or pregnancy photo shoot?
We are once again hosting evening “after hours” sessions for professional photographers when the fields are empty and lighting conditions tend to be optimal. These sessions will take place from 5:30PM – 7PM on select Tuesdays & Thursdays in September.
$50 per 90 minute session - Reservations Required Please note that we are providing a location only, not a photographer.

Ag Day in Concord Center - Saturday, September 9th - 10am-2pm

Concord Ag Day is a once a year farmers’ market celebrating local agriculture organized by the Concord Agriculture Committee to showcase Concord farms and local produce. This unique market showcases the bounty of Concord’s many farm businesses at the height of the growing season.

A Greener Farm to Table Dinner - Wednesday, September 13th - 6PM

Creating a greener and more sustainable farm is a key part of our mission at Verrill Farm!
Join us for another wonderful evening on the Farm featuring dishes made with the freshest current harvest of summer vegetables, live music and a cash bar, all in a beautiful setting.
In keeping with our "green theme" we will be serving dinner on a mix of collected ceramic plates, drinks will be served in reusable glass ware and silverware will be compostable! Our Greener Farm to Table Dinner is focused on providing you with a delicious feast with less environmental impact.

Whether it's lattice, deep dish, crumb topping, double crust... as long as it's an apple pie, it's eligible for entry! Bring your pie down to the Apple Pie table at the Festival at 12:30pm (please no earlier). Judging will take place at 1pm.

Stone Soup Farm to Table Dinner - Sunday, September 22nd - 4PM

Support Concord agriculture and join us for the 12th annual Stone Soup Dinner. One hundred percent of the “profits” from this event will again be donated the Concord Agricultural Committee and will be used to keep farming alive and well in Concord. Tickets are $40 per person and are on sale at The Concord Cheese Shop, Verrill Farm and online. Join us for a fun night of food, music, drink (cash bar), and mingling with friends.

Annual Harvest Festival - Saturday, October 14th - 11am-3pm

Join us for our annual Harvest Festival to support Pediatric Care at Emerson Hospital. A day of family fun featuring games and prizes, live music by Sandy Ridge Boys , PYO pumpkins, 4-H animals, a silent auction and a la cart food. All pumpkin sales during the festival will go towards Pumpkins for Pediatrics at Emerson Hospital. Admission for this event will be sold online and at the door.

Morris Dancing at Verrill Farm- Saturday, October 21st - 4:00pm

Come see The American Travelling Morrice group perform their Morris Dance at the Farm.
The American Travelling Morrice is comprised of dancers and musicians from across North America and abroad. While many of us perform regularly with teams in our hometowns, we come together for one week each year to form the Travelling Morrice. Since 1976, the group has toured throughout the Northeastern United States and England.
Morris dancing is an English country tradition, with roots in medieval street theatre. For hundreds of years, teams of white-clad dancers have capered and stepped through the intricate patterns of the dance, clashing wooden sticks and waving handkerchiefs in time to lively traditional tunes.

Fat Moon Farm presents Grow Your Own Mushrooms!
(Pickup at Verrill Farm)

Learn to Grow Your Own mushrooms with Farmer Elizabeth from Fat Moon Farm in this three part interactive (online) class. Over the course of a week you’ll learn how to set up your grow block, mushroom anatomy and what to expect from your block. You’ll share your progress while learning how to harvest, cook, store and preserve your mushrooms and learn much much more about mushrooms!

Each class includes 8 ounces of fresh organic mushrooms to enjoy right away, three 1-hour long live Zoom classes offered over the course of the week long harvest period, and your choice of the following 2 options: One 10 pound organic Shiitake Mushroom Grow Block (which should produce at least 2 pounds of mushrooms) for a total of $75 per class seat, or add an additional 10 pound organic Blue Oyster Mushroom grow block, for another $25, or a total of $100 per class seat.

Join best-selling cookbook author, Terry Walters, for this hands-on fermentation class, guaranteed to inspire and empower your home-fermenting practice! Class will be taught by Terry Walters and held in the farm stand greenhouse. Participants will learn about fermentation and prepare their own hot sauce and kimchi. Each participant will take home 2 jars of their prepared ferments.

Gingerbread House Kits - Sold Out

Each kit includes 1assembled homemade gingerbread house, 1 pint assorted Christmas candies, and 1 decorating bag of white frosting. Limited quantities available.

Wreath Making Workshop - Dec. 5th - 3PM - 5PM

Work with our floral designers to learn to make a beautiful wreath for your front door. Instruction will include: bow making, wiring pinecones, bells and baubles, as well as making the loop for hanging. 12″ Balsam wreathes start at $20. 16″ Balsam wreathes start at $26. Each wreath includes a bow of your choice and one additional decoration. Additional decorations will be sold at the class for $2 each. Additional decorations will include balls, presents, drums, artificial greens & berries, etc. Space is limited! Reserve your size and spot by purchasing online.

Santa Visits the Farm - Saturday, December 2nd - 11am - 1pm

The heated greenhouse will be decorated with trees and lights - a perfect backdrop for Santa's annual visit! Bring a list, take a picture with Santa and enjoy some light refreshments.

Pancake Breakfast - Saturday, Feb 4th - 9AM to Noon

Join us for a cozy morning in the greenhouse! Breakfast will include pancakes, bacon, sausage and juice or coffee and REAL Massachusetts Maple Syrup.
