Heirloom Tomatoes

2012 Tomato Order Form and List
Click here to download the order form

heir-loom, n
a valued possession passed down in a
family through succeeding generations.
Heirloom tomatoes have regained their popularity in recent years. Grown from seeds which have been saved through generations, these favorites have that "old-fashioned" flavor which is sometimes lost in supermarket varieties. Heirlooms tend to be a bit more perishable than hybrids but rank high in flavor and come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colors. Verrill Farm specializes in growing over 30 varieties of heirlooms and sells seedlings in the Spring and vine-ripened tomatoes at the stand during the growing season. All are sold by name, so you can easily find your favorite when you shop.

Greenhouse grown tomato seedlings are available for sale from Verrill Farm in the Spring. Sold in 2 or 3 inch pots, both heirloom and hybrids can be ordered for $3.00 per pot, prepaid from February to early April. Plants can be picked up at the farm stand from May 19-29.

This year we're offering 29 varieties of tomato seedlings. Always selected for flavor, we have added new varieties in all categories: heirloom - Costoluto Genovese & Oxheart Orange, Hybrid - Dafel, and Cherry - Red Pearl.

Please download the form, or pick one up at the stand, and place your order soon - planting season is around the corner!
