Father's Day Weekend!
Saturday, June 18, 9 & 11 am

Farm Tours with Steve Verrill - FREE


Hop on the hay wagon & ride through fields where the food you eat is grown! Steve will describe the preparation, planting, cultivating & harvesting of crops; introduce you to farm equipment and share tips gleaned from years of farming. Questions encouraged! Fun for all ages!
  • Meet at the stand at 9 am or 11 am. Tours approximately 45 - 60 minutes.
  • No reservations necessary.
Dom's Demo at the Stand!
Sample fresh grilled meats from Dom's - a family owned, local purveyor specializing in meats since 1936! A selection of Dom's meats for sale at the stand.

Strawberry Festival & Dessert Contest


Pick-Your-Own strawberries in fields by the stand
Food served a la carte
  • Strawberry Shortcake - Verrill Farm strawberries, made-from-scratch biscuits & fresh whipped cream
  • Hot dogs, hamburgers & more, beverages
Free Entertainment by singer John Fitzsimmons

Strawberry Dessert Contest - FREE Entry!

Verrill Farm welcomes local chef Bill Flumerfelt as celebrity judge! He will be looking for signature strawberry desserts including cakes, pies, cobblers, crisps, puddings, etc..

Judging in 2 categories: adult and 16 & under
11 am -1 pm: bring your entry (name & phone number attached) & the recipe
1:15 -1:30 pm: judging & prizes awarded

Chef Bill Flumerfelt returns to Verrill Farm as a judge having spent a year in the kitchen early in his career. 'I had worked in restaurant kitchens for a while and wanted to get a first hand understanding of seasonality which you can only get by working on a farm - I was lucky enough to end up in the Verrill Farm kitchen learning from Steve, Joan and Jen!' Ultimately Flumerfelt realized he missed being in a restaurant kitchen and returned to that world having gleaned information about crops and growing he uses to this day.

Field to Fork mid-Summer Crop Dinner


Verrill Farm chefs prepare a 3 course dinner inspired by our own just-picked crops.

Depending on crop availability, this is the menu being planned:
Appetizers: Blueberry & Brie in phyllo cups; Spinach & Fontina flat bread with dill & EVOO

Main Course: Tabbouleh & vegetable salad; Arugula salad with beets, oranges & goat cheese-raspberry vinaigrette; Grilled tilapia with caponata; Brown rice pilaf with zucchini, summer squash, celery, onions & herbs; Braised Swiss chard with peppers, sunflower seeds & raisins

Dessert: Plum upside down cake with Elderflower Chantilly cream
  • Cash bar serving wine & beer

Annual Harvest Festival & Benefit
for Emerson Hospital's Pediatric Care Unit

Fields surrounding the farm stand are transformed into an old-fashioned fair ground.

This fun for all ages benefit event includes:
  • Activities & games
  • Raffle
  • Food
Proceeds from activity, game & raffle tickets, as well as food purchases, go to Emerson Hospital's Pediatric Intervention Team to provide Coping Kits for children at the hospital.

The kits contain items & activities that are used to help children & caregivers cope successfully with the hospital experience.

- A candlelight Harvest Dinner in our heated, decorated greenhouse.

Visit with Santa


The heated greenhouse will be decorated with greens, poinsettias & lights - a perfect backdrop for Santa's annual visit!

These popular workshops are fun for all ages Farm stand bakers are on hand with decorating tips or just let your imagination take over!

$35.00 fee includes:
  • assembled, undecorated gingerbread house on a 12" cardboard
  • frosting (gingerbread and frosting made in the farm stand kitchen)
  • candy for trim
  • Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. Adult comes at no additional charge. Please, only one adult per child.
  • Reservations required. These classes fill up quickly so we recommend calling early!
