Our cooking classes for kids & adults have proven to be perennial favorites. Below is our list for 2018. Occasionally we add classes or update information so please check back often for new information!

Adult Cooking Classes

Add to your menu repertoire with Verrill Farm cooking classes. Taught by our professional farm stand chefs & bakers, some classes are demonstration style with tastings of what is being prepared & some are hands-on. All participants leave with new skills, recipes & food made during the class!

Come with a friend or make a friend - the classes are convivial, informative and fun!
  • Classes take place in the farm stand kitchen from 6 - 8 pm.
  • Registration & prepayment required. Price per student varies with class.

Baking with the farm stand pros - Pate a Choux

Learn to make Pate a Choux - a versatile, light dough used in cream puffs, eclairs & other pastries which are then filled with ice cream or pastry cream & glazed for the final touch! $45.00 per person

Cooking with Kevin - Demonstration & Hands-on

Pizza & Focaccia from scratch
Kevin will demonstrate how to make dough for grilled, thin crust & deep dish pizza & rosemary-onion focaccia as well as sauces, purees & spreads. Then everyone has a hand personalizing pizzas using various toppings, garnishes & cheeses including parmesan, mozzarella, Asiago & others.

Kevin's demonstration classes are within reach for home cooks while also teaching tricks of the trade to make meal preparation more enjoyable & results more rewarding! Kevin gets high praise from everyone who takes his classes & they love leaving with samples of what he has prepared! $35.00 per person

Baking with the farm stand pros - Sweet & Savory Tarts

Entrée or Dessert? There's a tart for both! Learn how to make sweet dough to fill with berries for a tasty, elegant dessert and savory dough to fill with spinach & mushrooms or other seasonal veggies for a satisfying main course! Take home what you have made! $45.00 per person

School Vacation Cooking Classes for Kids

Menus, instruction and hands-on participation are geared for specific ages to make each class suitable & fun for the chefs-in-training! Kids leave with cooking confidence & the food they have prepared!
  • Classes take place from 3 - 4:30 pm in the farm stand kitchen.
  • $30.00 per student. Registration & prepayment are required.
  • Kids get to take home what they make!
