2017 Cooking Classes for Kids & Adults

Our cooking classes for kids & adults have proven to be perennial favorites. Below is our list for 2017. Occasionally we add classes or update information so please check back often for new information!

Adult Cooking Classes

Add to your menu repertoire with Verrill Farm cooking classes. Taught by our professional farm stand chefs & bakers, some classes are demonstration style with tastings of what is being prepared & some are hands-on. All participants leave with new skills, recipes & food made during the class!

Come with a friend or make a friend - the classes are convivial, informative and fun!
  • Classes take place in the farm stand kitchen from 6 - 8 pm
  • $35.00 per student. Registration & prepayment are required

Cooking with Kevin: Soup's On!

From clear to cream! Learn to make several tasty soups in chef Kevin Carey's March class including Tortilla Bean, a vegetarian option with kidney beans, peppers, southwest spices and crushed tortillas; Butternut Squash Bisque, a rich, satisfying soup made using chicken broth and cream and Chicken Noodle which has a long history - from ancient times to Campbell's - but home-made is always best and participants will leave with confidence and how-to's for making their own! This is a demonstration class with tastings of each soup. Q & A throughout. Recipes included.

Baking with the Pros: Royal Icing Sugar Cookies

Learn to make impressive cookies from dough to decorating. Royal Icing is the classic frosting used for decorating cookies. The stand bakers will show how to color, spread, pipe and work with the icing; participants will use the techniques they have learned to create their own unique cookie masterpieces to take home!
